On artistprofiler.art, all Contemporary Artists can create and complete their own page — a Portrait that makes their artistic approach explicit.
Who is considered a Contemporary Artist?
An artist is considered contemporary if born after 1931 (artists born before that date being generally associated with a historical art movement), not primarily identified with another professional activity, and meeting at least one of the following criteria:
- Their main activity is the production of works in Contemporary Art
- They have taken part in at least three exhibitions in the past ten years in spaces dedicated to Contemporary Art
- The majority of their income comes from the sale of their artworks.
How are Portraits organised?
Artists' Portraits take the form of pre-filled, personalised pages created for artists belonging to one of the three scenes: International Scene, French Scene, Prominence Scene.
Emerging artists who do not fall into these categories can create and complete their own page (a self-Portrait).
